Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Aundrea Jones is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate (LMFT-A) under the supervision of Larry R. Bell, Jr., MS, LCMFT-S. Aundrea graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Alcorn State University and a Master of Science in Psychology-Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University. Aundrea believes in empowering clients by helping them overcome trauma, find solutions to life stressors, create new narratives, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Aundrea is passionate about working with children, veterans, families, and couples who experience PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar and personality disorders, grief, and various neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism and ADHD. During Aundrea's internship at the Houston VA, she primarily worked with veterans with a specialization in couples and families who experienced trauma, substance use, infidelity, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, various disabilities, etc.

As an LMFT-A, Aundrea provides specialized psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families through a systemic lens using Collaborative Dialogic Practice, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Aundrea aims to help clients through storytelling and believes the client is always the expert. Aundrea's primary goal is to help the client explore their past, present and hopes for the future and bring them to life. Aundrea conceptualizes therapy as the therapist is an art instructor, and the client is the student. While the instructor knows the topic, the sole purpose is not to tell the students what to do but to guide them to create their masterpiece. The instructor helps the student realize that every brushstroke has a purpose and direction. The idea is to take the pain and transform it into power.

Aundrea is originally from Louisiana but moved to Texas to pursue her dream of becoming a marriage and family therapist. She enjoys painting, reading books, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
