Licensed Professional Counselor
LaKeysa is both a School Counselor and a License Professional Counselor (LPC) who is certified by Texas Education Agency and licensed by the Texas State Board of Health and Human Services. She received both a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University.
She believes the client is the expert and solution to whatever he/she has encountered. LaKeysa has a way of helping her clients analyze their thinking to shape their behavior. Her passion is to assist clients with meeting their short- and long-term goals.
LaKeysa steps into every counseling session with an open mind, genuine heart, receptive listening, and a nonjudgmental perspective. She creates a safe and positive environment that allows her to empathize with her clients and travel towards their journey of healing. Her experience includes working with juveniles and adults with inappropriate sexual behaviors, survivors of sexual assault, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger management, and grief. She believes in the need to be a lifelong learner by attending conferences, workshops, and obtaining certifications.
