Yolie Garibay

Veteran Trauma Therapist

Yolie received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Houston and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas in San Antonio.  She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Dr Robert Ferow.

Yolie has worked with all age groups who have experienced anxiety and mood disorders such as depression, bipolar, mental distress, and thoughts of self-harm.  Through her practicum site she gained experience working with a diverse range of mental health issues that include PTSD, domestic violence, anger problems, self-esteem issues and trauma.

To help her clients live a more fulfilling life Yolie uses evidenced-based modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.  In addition, she uses components of mindfulness and self-compassion to increase understanding of one’s obstacles and challenges.

Yolie is currently working toward her certification for Grief and Loss Therapy.  Her goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental and accepting space for clients to explore and discovery their own inner wisdom, resilience and strengths to achieve a more meaningful life.  Yolie acknowledges that seeking therapy can be intimidating and scary, but it can also lead to self-discovery, emotional growth, healing, self-compassion and empowerment.  Yolie feels privileged to walk alongside you on this life changing journey.
